The MMI CellCut offers a unique and patented way (US Patent #8,945,866) to isolate dissected tissue so that lysis buffer is added only after all cells are collected. Other systems require lysis buffer in the isolation tube to be able to collect cells. Since the isolation procedure will take some time depending on the amount of tissue required for downstream applications, your lysis buffer may evaporate or crystallize during cell isolation. Thus, the lysis buffer concentrations will be altered which will probably interfere with your downstream procedure. Especially for RNA applications, we recommend using freshly prepared lysis buffer including RNase inhibitors.
